JEE Main FAQs 2018

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct JEE Main 2018 on April 8, 15 and 16. Every year, around 12 lakh students apply for the country’s most coveted engineering entrance examination. JEE Main FAQs 2018- Exam Pattern

Will JEE Main 2018 will be held online for both paper 1 and paper 2?

CBSE will conduct JEE Main paper 1 in offline as well as Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. JEE Main paper 2, on the other hand, will be held in pen and paper based mode only.

What is the medium of instruction for JEE Main 2018?

The medium of language for JEE Main 2018 is English and Hindi. In the exam centres in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli the examination the examination will be conducted in Gujarati as well.

Are the subject combination for JEE Main paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) and paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan.) similar?

As per JEE Main 2018 exam pattern, paper 1 will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. While, paper 2 of JEE Main  comprises Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing.

JEE Main FAQs 2018- Admit Card

When will the admit card of JEE Main 2018 be issued and in which mode?

CBSE will issue JEE Main admit card online in the second week of March. Candidates have to log in with their application number and date of birth to download the admit card.

I forgot to book the date for the computer-based test. Will I be issued JEE Main admit card?

Candidates will be issued the admit card of JEE Main even if they have failed to book their slots. However, such candidates will be allotted slot/date as per availability and it will be mentioned on their admit card.

I have submitted two application forms by mistake, will I be issued the admit card of JEE Main 2018?

At the time of issuing admit card, both the application form of the candidates will be merged and only one admit card will be issued.

JEE Main FAQs 2018- Result

When will CBSE announce the result of JEE Main 2018 for paper 1 and paper 2?

The result of JEE Main paper 1 will be announced on April 30. While for paper 2, JEE Main result will be announced on May 31, 2018.

How will I know about the rank secured in JEE Main 2018?

The rank secured by candidates in JEE Main will be displayed on the score card. CBSE will publish the All India Rank as well as the category wise rank of test takers. However, only the AIR will be considered for admissions.

When will CBSE release the cutoff of JEE Main 2018?

The cutoff of JEE Main for qualifying the entrance examination will be released along with the result. The cutoff score will vary for General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD category.

Who will conduct the counselling of JEE Main 2018?

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is the responsible authority for conducting the counselling of JEE Main.

Which are the institutes that will participate in the counselling of JEE Main 2018?

JoSAA will conduct JEE Main counselling for admission into 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 23 GFTIs.

When will JEE Main 2018 counselling start?

JEE Main  counselling will is likely to start from the second week of June.

However, candidates must send an e-mail to jeemain@nic.in mentioning both the application numbers and specifying clearly the application number which they want to be considered.
